Your advantage
Starting a website, an app or an online store takes an afternoon now. Building a business people trust takes years: real products, a real place, real customers who come back. That can't be copied. What's left is the easy part, bringing your tools up to date.
Still good at the work, but harder to find, harder to book and harder to run than it needs to be.
Easy to start and easy to copy. There are more of these every day, and customers can tell.
Hard to copy and easy to choose. Your business deserves 2026, not 2015, and getting there costs less than you'd think.
Sound familiar?
Your website was built in 2015, or it's just a Facebook page.
A fast, clear site that shows your work and makes it easy to call, book, order or ask for a quote.
Quotes eat your evenings.
An instant estimate or quote builder that does the first pass, using your prices and your rules.
The phone rings while you're up a ladder.
A missed-call text that collects the job details, so you call back knowing what it's about.
Holiday orders arrive by text, DM, email and phone.
One order page with pickup times and limits you set, and a packing list at the end of the day.
You know you should post more, but there's never time.
A batch of photos and short videos of your work and your team, ready to post for weeks.
What I make
Every business needs something different, so there's no package. These are the four kinds of things I make, and most projects mix a few.
A modern site that looks good on a phone, loads fast and leads to one thing: a call, a booking, an order or a quote.
Small apps that fit how you work. Not accounting or HR software; good versions of those already exist. These handle the moments customers reach you, and the small jobs behind the counter.
I'm a photographer and videographer too, so the pictures come from the same person as the website, and everything matches.
Not everything is on a screen. The things customers hold, wear and drive past should look as good as your website.
Customers see a price range in a minute; you get a complete job request.
Painters, cleaners, roofers, snow clearingPickup times with daily limits, so you never take more than you can make.
Bakeries, butchers, chocolatiersSold online any hour, with a simple ledger for redeeming and balances.
Spas, salons, restaurantsOne tap after a job sends a friendly request and a direct link to your Google reviews.
Any local businessTurn an enquiry into a costed, branded quote in a few minutes, not an evening.
Caterers, venues, event spacesA QR code in the room opens Wi-Fi, check-out, local tips and answers to common questions.
Inns, motels, chalet hostsWhen you can't pick up, the caller gets a text and a short form, and you get a summary.
Trades and home servicesOne screen for the thing you track on paper now: stock, orders, rentals or staff hours.
Shops, rentals, small teamsTell me about your business, and I'll come back with a working version made for you, using your name and your services. Click through it. If it's not useful, you don't owe me anything.
Ask for yoursAbout the AI part
I use AI tools every day, and I keep up with them as each new one arrives. That's how I can build in days, not months, and why my prices are a fraction of what this used to cost.
I'm not here to put AI into your business. Most of what I make is ordinary, dependable technology: a website, an order form, a booking page. If something would really be better with AI inside it, like drafting replies to enquiries, I'll suggest it, and you approve anything that goes to a customer. If not, it stays out.
Technology isn't just screens and passwords. A light switch is technology, and you don't need to understand the wiring to turn on the lights. If this stuff isn't your thing, that's fine. It's mine.
How we work
In person or by video. I learn how your business runs and what eats your time. With your permission I record it, so no detail gets lost.
I come back with ideas made for your business, and a working demo of the most promising one, usually within a week.
We pick what's worth doing. You get one price, in writing, before any work starts.
Set up on accounts you own. As new things become possible, I'll bring them to you.
Plain terms
Pricing
Sideroad Studio is new, and I'd rather build a few great things for local businesses than wait for big budgets. Early clients get prices that mostly cover the running costs, plus a modest fee for the build.
We talk about your business, what's working and what isn't. No cost and no obligation.
Before any work starts, you get a clear scope and a single price. No hourly surprises.
Your domain, hosting and any outside services a tool needs are listed before you agree to anything.
Who's behind it
I've always loved technology: figuring out how things work, and making them work better. I've worked inside a large multinational consulting firm and at a small startup, so I've seen how business runs at both ends. I'm also a photographer and videographer, and I've designed and shipped my own apps, including Atlas, an iPhone app for strength training.
These days I spend most of my time with the newest AI tools, testing what each one can do. The more I use them, the clearer it gets: the biggest opportunity isn't another app. It's helping real businesses with real customers use what's now possible.
The name comes from the sideroads that link every town around here. I'm up by Osler, on the 6th Sideroad. I'm meeting businesses in person through November and December 2026, then travelling for the winter, and we keep working together by video call and email until I'm back in Collingwood in spring 2027.

Questions
No. I use it to build faster and keep prices low. What you get is a website or tool that works like any other. If AI would help inside it, I'll suggest it, and it's your call.
Less than you'd expect. While the studio is new, prices mostly cover running costs like your domain and hosting, plus a modest build fee. Every project gets one fixed price, in writing, after a free consultation.
Yes, through November and December 2026. Over the winter I'm travelling, and we work by video call, phone and email until I'm back in Collingwood in spring 2027. Websites and tools don't need me in the room, so the work carries on.
Only if you're happy with it. I go back over the recording, sometimes with AI tools, so I don't miss details when I'm working out ideas for you. It's never shared, and if you'd rather not, I'll take notes instead.
Often not. Sometimes the right move is fixing a few pages, adding better photos or one tool. I'll look at what you have and tell you straight.
You do. The domain, hosting and any connected services are set up in your name. I can manage them for you on a care plan, but they're yours.
The demo comes first, usually within a week of our chat. After you say yes, most websites take a few weeks, depending on how quickly we gather content and photos. Single tools are often quicker.
Yes. I shoot in person through November and December 2026, and again from spring 2027. In between, I can work with photos you take on your phone, and I'll tell you exactly what to shoot.
On a care plan, you text or email me and I fix it. Without one, I'll still help, at an hourly rate agreed in advance.
Free consultation
A few lines is plenty. I'll get back to you to set up a free consultation. Get in touch before the end of December if you'd like to meet in person.
